Hi, I'm Leander, a cinematographer based in Germany.
I work across fiction, documentary, and commercial formats.

Since 2020, I have been studying Cinematography in Department VII at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF), under Professors Peter Zeitlinger (ASC) and Christian Rein (BVK), including a workshop at La Fémis with Eric Gautier (AFC).
Films for which I have served as Cinematographer have been screened in Competition at renowned festivals such as the Max Ophüls Festival, Diagonale, Interfilm, YDA, Hofer Filmtage, Clermont-Ferrand, and several others.
In 2024, I was very proud to shoot my first feature-length film Callas Darling, that was in competition at the Max Ophüls Preis 2025 and Diagonale 2025 and I am even prouder that with that film I am nominated for the German Cinematography Award DEUTSCHER KAMERAPREIS 2025 in Sektion Nachwuchs.

As a queer man from the countryside, I am especially interested in films that explore themes of identity, origin, sexuality, and the body – and more generally in cinema that is rooted in a loving gaze toward its characters. Photography and painting are my greatest inspirations, the light of everyday life my dearest friend, and I am always in search of a good story.
